Territories of Roman Catholic dioceses in India : ウィキペディア英語版 | Territories of Roman Catholic dioceses in India This page gives a list of the territories of the dioceses of the Catholic Church in India. Each diocese is made up of a few Indian civil districts and is administered by a bishop. Dioceses are further grouped into Ecclesiastical provinces. The most important diocese of the province is the archdiocese and the bishop of this diocese is an archbishop. The civil district should not be confused with ecclesiastical district or deanery, which is another type of subdivision of a diocese. All Syro-Malankara Catholics in India are under the authority of the Syro-Malankara bishops. In the Archeparchies and Eparchies within the Syro-Malabar canonical territory and in the Eparchies of Kalyan and Faridabad, the authority of the respective bishops is over the respective rites only. The Syro-Malankara, Syro-Malabar and Latin Catholics of these areas are under the respective Syro-Malankara, Syro-Malabar or Latin bishop. On the other hand, in all other Syro-Malabar dioceses (Adilabad, Bijnor, Chanda, Gorakhpur, Jagdalpur, Rajkot, Sagar, Satna and Ujjain) the authority of the Syro-Malabar bishop is over both, Syro-Malabar and Latin rite Catholics. In a similar pattern, both, Syro-Malabar and Latin rite Catholics living in all other areas are under the local Latin bishop. In the following, the names listed after the name of the state or union territory are the names of civil districts, unless otherwise mentioned. == Latin Ecclesiastical Provinces==
